OPERA 

After studying at Australian National University and then completing a B(Mus) degree at the Royal Northern College of Music as a Peter Moores Scholar Ali started her career as an operatic soprano.

 

In 2000 she was chosen as one of Simone Young's Young Artists in her debut season as Artistic Director of Opera Australia. So began a very fruitful 5 & 1/2 years as a principal soprano for that prestigious company performing and understudying over 25 roles winning awards and working with some of the biggest names in international opera. After running away with the circus in 2005 in the form of The Famous Spiegeltent's La Clique she focused more on an international cabaret career but never completely gave away her operatic voice singing  the title role in Melbourne Opera's Merry Widow in 2010, creating The Opera Burlesque and most recently leading the concept creation and starring in Victorian Opera's acclaimed new work Lorelei.
